It was negative 30, blowing winds, darkness had overtaken the sky when I heard the words, “It’s time to go.” I strapped on my crampons, put on my goggles and turned on my head lamp and started my journey to the summit of Mount Everest. I was thankful it was so dark and I couldn’t see the sheer drop I would make if I took a wrong step. I wasn’t necessarily lost, but I didn’t know where I was going. I was trusting my Sherpa, Karma, who puts his life at risk to protect mine. The next 24 hours were the most challenging 24 hours of my life but they were also some of the most incredible. Now that I have conquered that summit I am excited to be launching my newest adventure- The Summit Group.
